Posted 4 minutes ago Only freelancers located in the U.S. may apply. Summary Who We Are Legacy Farmer is building the financial operating system for American family farms. We combine built-for-ag software (Farmer Metrics) with ag finance coaching delivered by a team of ~44 people. Our customers are farm families making million-dollar decisions with tools built for everyone except them — we're fixing that. We're not a startup looking for product-market fit. We have paying customers, real revenue, and a clear five-year target: 2,000 farm operations served and $100M ARR. The software you build is the core of that plan. The Mission The frontend of our two products is largely built. Your job is to make everything behind it work correctly and hold up under scrutiny: Farmer Metrics — the financial dashboard for farm operations: cash flow, cost of production, breakevens, working capital, and the agricultural intelligence layer that sits underneath all of it. Lending Metrics — the platform that puts a farmer's banker, crop insurance agent, and grain marketer on the same page, looking at the same live numbers. This is where we disrupt ag banking, and it has to be built right. Concretely, you will own: Backend architecture and data model — designed to serve the existing frontend, with a clean API contract between the two Correctness — this is financial software; a wrong breakeven number destroys trust with a farm family. Automated testing, data validation, and reconciliation are core deliverables, not afterthoughts Security — authentication, role-based permissioning (farmer vs. banker vs. insurance agent vs. coach), encryption at rest and in transit, audit trails, and a posture that survives a bank's vendor security review. Lending Metrics puts us in front of financial institutions; you build like their security team is reading your code, because eventually they will Integrations and infrastructure — third-party financial/accounting data, background jobs, deployments, monitori

Hi there, You're not looking for a developer who wants to learn ag finance on your dime. You're looking for someone who can build a backend that won't embarrass you in front of a bank's security team, because Lending Metrics puts you in rooms where broken permissions or a failed reconciliation ends the conversation permanently. I read the posting carefully. The frontend exists. The backend needs to be bulletproof. That means a clean data model, role-based access that actually works (farmer sees their numbers, banker sees what they're allowed to, no leaks), automated testing that catches bad math before it reaches a customer, and security posture that survives vendor reviews. I've built financial platforms before, but I need to be direct with you: I'm seeing a mismatch here. You're building ag-specific financial software with complex permissioning, third-party data integrations, and a product that has to survive scrutiny from banks and institutions. That's a serious backend architecture problem, and it's the right problem to solve. But the skills listed (React, Node, PHP, WooCommerce-adjacent proof) and my background (13+ years WordPress, WooCommerce, frontend-heavy builds) don't line up with what Lending Metrics actually needs. You need someone who has built multi-tenant SaaS backends, handled complex financial data models, implemented granular RBAC systems, and stood up infrastructure that scales under institutional scrutiny. I can build a clean WooCommerce checkout in my sleep. I can structure a WordPress platform that handles complicated data relationships. But what you're describing is a different weight class, and I'd rather tell you that now than pretend my toolkit maps cleanly to your architecture. If the scope shifts or if there's a WordPress/frontend component I missed in the posting, I'm happy to talk. But if this is purely backend-heavy SaaS infrastructure for financial institutions, you need someone whose last three builds looked exactly like that. Trust, Tai
