Squarespace Designer — Visual Design & Responsive Polish (4-page site)

Less than 1 week, Less than 30 hrs/week United States only This engagement is for visual design and responsive behavior, not content or information architecture. Scope of work (Copywriting, SEO, logo design, and photography are out of scope.): Four pages: Home, Selling Your Business, Who We Are, Contact. 1.Establish a consistent design system - typography scale, color palette, spacing rhythm, button styles - and apply it across all four pages. 2.Set the mobile layout explicitly for every section, rather than relying on automatic stacking, and make sure the desktop layout holds up at tablet widths 3.Resolve the specific issues listed below 4.Style the contact form to match 5.Provide a short handoff document explaining the system and how to add a new section without breaking it Specific issues I've identified: -Mobile layouts appear never to have been arranged deliberately. Sections look like they've been left to Squarespace's automatic stacking, so blocks land in the wrong order and spacing collapses on a phone. -Sections don't share a consistent container width — the left edge of content visibly shifts as you scroll from one section to the next. -The desktop layout doesn't hold up at tablet widths. -Low contrast on dark sections — body copy is mid-gray on near-black and hard to read in daylight. -Inverted button hierarchy — the primary call-to-action is a thin outline while a secondary navigation button is solid. -Inconsistent heading alignment — some sections centered, others left-aligned, with no discernible pattern. -Uneven vertical rhythm — large dead space at some section boundaries, cramped at others; columns in multi-column rows end at ragged heights. -A background pattern sitting behind body copy, making it hard to read. Critical requirement — please read before applying The work must be done natively in Squarespace, using Fluid Engine and built-in Site Styles, so that I can maintain and extend it myself afterward. I am not looking for a heavily code-injected site that looks polished but that I can't edit. If custom CSS is genuinely necessary, keep it minimal, keep it in one place, and document what each rule does and where it applies. I will be adding pages and sections after you're finished. The system you build has to survive that.
