More than 6 months, Less than 30 hrs/week We are a specialist Australian health digital agency, shortlisted for the full redesign and custom WordPress rebuild of a large Australian healthcare provider's website. We need a senior technical delivery lead to run the engagement end to end: the delivery plan and client governance, and the technical architecture and security scope. THE BUILD Custom block-based theme with governed templates and editorial workflows; a 500+ practitioner directory with custom search; WooCommerce event ticketing and payments; nine-language content; integrations with a credentialing system, online booking, Microsoft Entra ID SSO, an enterprise DAM and the client's security logging platform. Enterprise IT security requirements (WAF, SSO/MFA, IP-restricted admin, SAST/DAST, penetration testing, log forwarding, backup and recovery targets), WCAG 2.2 AA and Core Web Vitals targets, fixed launch date. Hosting stays on the client's managed WordPress platform behind Cloudflare. TIMING AND LOAD Immediate start to support a shortlisted client presentation in Melbourne on 21 September (in person if you are in Australia, by video link otherwise), then approximately 11 months of build from October 2026 if awarded, plus an ongoing support engagement. Load averages 1.5 to 2 days per week across the project: around 3 days during discovery (October to November) and launch (July to August), closer to 1 day through the middle of the build. YOU WILL - Own the delivery plan, milestones, budget tracking, resourcing and client governance (weekly WIPs, fortnightly steering, RAID log, change control, sign-off gates) - Run discovery and technical scoping with the client's IT, marketing and clinical stakeholders - Own the solution architecture, integration design, environments and deployment pipeline - Own the client's IT security requirement set through build, pen testing, remediation, UAT and launch, as the technical counterpart to their IT and security teams - Direct and review the work of our in-house developers - Manage the migration plan (1,200+ redirects), content load coordination and third-party vendors - Coordinate WCAG 2.2 AA and Core Web Vitals delivery and evidence - Be introduced to the client as their single point of contact MUST HAVE - 8+ years in digital delivery, including at least one enterprise WordPress build or replatform of comparable scale that you architected or technically led - Hands-on enterprise WordPress depth: custom themes, block editor, ACF, WooCommerce, managed hosting, CDN and WAF configuration - Delivered to an enterprise IT security requirement set: SSO (OIDC or SAML), WAF, pen testing and remediation, logging, backup and recovery - Healthcare, government or other regulated, procurement-led client experience - Confident presenting to executive, procurement and IT stakeholders - Fluent, native-level written and spoken English. You will be the client's primary contact and will present to hospital executives and procurement. Non-negotiable. - Based in Australia (preferred), or in the United Kingdom, South Africa, the United States or Canada, with a working pattern that overlaps Australian business hours NICE TO HAVE Kinsta or WP Engine and Cloudflare in production; Entra ID integration with WordPress; WCAG 2.2 AA conformance reporting; agency-side delivery experience; Melbourne-based. TO APPLY In your proposal, give two comparable projects (scale, your role, the architecture and security scope you owned, outcome), your availability for the week of 15 September and for 21 September, your location and time zone, and your hourly rate. Proposals that do not answer these will not be considered. Full project details are shared under NDA at interview.

Hi there, This is not a typical WordPress build and you know it. The weight isn't in the templates or the directory logic. It's in running a fixed-date launch through a client IT department, a security audit process, nine-language content coordination, and a 1,200+ URL migration without breaking anything that matters. You need someone who has stood in the technical counterpart seat before and didn't flinch. I've run enterprise WordPress rebuilds at this scale before, including practitioner directories with custom search, multi-language publishing, WooCommerce integrations, and launches behind enterprise IT security review processes. That includes WCAG 2.2 AA delivery with documented evidence, SSO/MFA implementation, WAF coordination, and pen test remediation cycles where I was the named technical lead on the client side of the table. For this engagement, I would own it end to end the way you described: 1. I'd run discovery in October across IT, marketing, and clinical stakeholders to lock the full requirement set, then build the delivery plan with milestones, RAID log structure, sign-off gates, and weekly WIP rhythm before the first line of code. 2. I'd architect the solution: custom block-based theme with editorial governance, 500+ practitioner directory with faceted search logic, WooCommerce ticketing and payments, WPML or Polylang for nine-language content depending on editorial workflow needs, integrations with the credentialing system, booking platform, Entra ID SSO, DAM, and security logging platform. 3. I'd manage the client's IT security requirement set as written: WAF rules coordination with Cloudflare, IP-restricted admin, SAST/DAST tooling in the pipeline, pen test scheduling and remediation tracking, log forwarding setup, and backup/recovery SLA evidence. I've done this before. It's process discipline, not mystery. 4. I'd direct your in-house developers through build, review integration work, coordinate the 1,200+ redirect map and content load timing, run WCAG testing with tooling and manual review, tune Core Web Vitals before UAT, and manage third-party vendors so nothing slips. 5. I'd be introduced as single point of contact and run fortnightly steering, change control, and sign-off through launch in August. I'm in the U.S., so I'd join the September 21 presentation by video link, then run the 11-month build at the 1.5 to 2 days per week load you outlined. I'm comfortable at $115/hr for this scope and timeline. If this direction feels aligned, let me know. I can walk you through a comparable enterprise healthcare build I led and show you how the governance structure and security delivery actually ran. Trust, Tai
