Job Description

Cleaned for readability so you can scan the ask faster.

Intermediate - Est. Budget: $3,000 Only freelancers located in the United States may apply. We are looking for a full-stack developer to design and build the MVP for Midnight Riviera, a new platform focused on nightlife events and recording studio discovery and booking. This should be a coded, functional MVP, not just a landing page or mockup. The goal is to launch a clean, premium platform that can begin accepting recording studios and processing bookings while also promoting Midnight Riviera events. PROJECT SCOPE Homepage Premium, modern nightlife/music-focused design Mobile responsive Sections for upcoming events and featured recording studios Clear navigation between Events and Studios Recording Studio Marketplace Browse recording studios Individual studio profile pages Photos, description, location/area, amenities, equipment, pricing, and availability information Basic search/filter functionality Studio Onboarding Recording studios can apply to join Midnight Riviera Studio submits business/profile information, photos, pricing, etc. Admin can approve or reject studios Approved studio profiles can be published to the marketplace Booking System Customer selects a studio Customer chooses or requests a date/time Studio can accept or reject the booking request Customer can pay through Midnight Riviera Booking status and confirmation are recorded automatically Customer and studio receive appropriate booking notifications Payments Stripe integration Preferably Stripe Connect architecture so Midnight Riviera can collect a platform commission and studios can receive payouts Payment and booking records stored in the platform Basic refund/cancellation capability Events Upcoming events page Individual event pages Event images, descriptions, dates, locations, pricing, etc. Ticket purchase button For the MVP, ticketing can integrate with an external ticketing provider rather than building a custom QR/ticketing system Basic Admin Admin should be able to: Add/edit/remove events Review studio applications Approve/reject studios Manage studio listings View bookings View basic payment/booking information TECHNOLOGY We are open to recommendations, but a stack such as Next.js/React, Supabase, Stripe, and Vercel would be appropriate. IMPORTANT We want a real coded application with a clean codebase that can be expanded after the MVP. The developer must provide full ownership and handoff of: Source code GitHub repository Database Deployment Stripe integration All project credentials/accounts Documentation needed for another developer to continue development This MVP does NOT need: Custom event QR/ticketing infrastructure Advanced messaging Advanced analytics AI features Native mobile apps Complex recommendation algorithms Large-scale enterprise functionality The focus is a simple, polished and reliable first version. BUDGET Fixed-price budget: approximately $3,000. We are looking for someone who understands how to keep an MVP lean and can recommend practical solutions rather than overengineering the first version. TARGET TIMELINE Approximately 4 to 6 weeks. WHEN APPLYING Please include: Examples of marketplaces, booking platforms or similar applications you have built Your recommended technology stack Whether you have experience with Stripe Connect Your estimated timeline Confirmation that all source code and project assets will be fully transferred at completion A brief explanation of how you would approach the recording studio booking and payment flow

Hi there, You don't need a developer to copy templates or wire up a Stripe button. You need someone who has built this exact category before, working marketplaces with studio onboarding, booking workflows, multi-party payouts, and the kind of approval logic that keeps bad listings from going live before you catch them. I've built directory platforms and MVPs that collect applications, approve vendors, route payments through Stripe Connect, and handle booking state across customers, vendors, and admins. I did this for Pink Robin Inc., a full marketplace build on WooCommerce that handled vendor onboarding, product approval flows, and commission splits. The platform still runs today and processes real bookings. For Midnight Riviera, this is what I'd build: 1. Studio marketplace first. Browse page with clean cards. Individual studio profiles with image galleries, equipment lists, availability calendars, and booking CTAs. Search and filter by location, amenities, price range, and availability windows. Mobile-responsive throughout. 2. Studio onboarding and approval. Studios submit application forms with business info, photos, pricing, availability, and equipment details. Everything routes to an admin dashboard where you can review, request edits, approve, or reject. Once approved, profiles publish to the marketplace automatically. No manual copy-paste needed. 3. Booking workflow with state management. Customer selects studio and requests a date/time. Studio receives notification and can accept or reject the request. On acceptance, customer pays via Stripe. Booking status updates automatically and both parties get confirmations. Status tracking across the entire lifecycle. 4. Stripe Connect for payouts. Platform collects your commission percentage, studio receives the remainder. Clean ledger of all transactions visible in admin. Refund and cancellation flows built in from the start. 5. Events section. You can add, edit, and remove events through admin. Each event gets its own page with images, descriptions, date/location, and pricing. Ticket button links to external ticketing provider for MVP (Eventbrite, etc.). 6. Admin dashboard. Manage events, review studio applications, approve or reject listings, view bookings, and see payment history. Clean interface, no friction. Stack-wise, I'd recommend Next.js for the frontend and API routes, Supabase for the database and auth, Stripe Connect for payments, and Vercel for deployment. That gives you speed, scalability, and a codebase clean enough to hand off or expand later without rewrites. You'll get full ownership: source code, GitHub repo, database access, deployment credentials, Stripe integration, and documentation so your next developer (or you) can pick it up without translation. Timeline would be 4-5 weeks for full MVP build, testing, and handoff. Budget is workable at $3,000 if we stay focused on the core flows and don't scope-creep into custom ticketing or advanced analytics during MVP. If this direction feels aligned, I can send a more detailed feature breakdown and milestone structure so you know exactly what ships and when. Trust, Tai
