Shopify Catalog Organization and UX Improvement

Only freelancers located in the United States may apply. ## Summary We are looking for an experienced Shopify freelancer to help build out, organize, and maintain a large e-commerce catalog for caster wheels and related products. This is an existing Shopify website, **not a full rebuild**. We have started a new version of the site using the Warehouse theme, which is currently saved as a draft. We are open to recommendations if there is a better approach for a large product catalog. This will be an **ongoing project rather than a one-time job**. We are looking for someone we can work with on an **as-needed basis** as we continue adding products and improving the website. A major part of this project will be **uploading and organizing thousands of SKUs into Shopify over time**. We will provide organized product spreadsheets containing the information needed to create the products. **A sample spreadsheet is attached to this job posting so you can see the type and amount of product data you will be working with.** You do not need previous knowledge of caster wheels. However, you must be comfortable working with technical product data and be able to accurately translate the information provided in our spreadsheets into a well-organized Shopify catalog. ###

Responsibilities * Upload products and thousands of SKUs from provided spreadsheets * Organize products, variants, SKUs, pricing, specifications, and images * Determine the best Shopify structure for products with multiple configurations * Create and maintain collections * Set up product metafields and attributes * Build useful product filters so customers can narrow products by specifications such as wheel diameter, load capacity, mounting type, wheel material, overall height, etc. * Improve navigation and overall site organization * Improve product page layouts and usability * Make it easy for customers to either purchase online or request a quote * Identify obvious inconsistencies or missing information in product data before uploading * Develop an efficient and repeatable process for adding additional product series and SKUs * Make additional Shopify updates and improvements as needed Our overall goal is to create a **clean, modern, professional, and easy-to-navigate industrial e-commerce website** where customers can quickly narrow a very large catalog down to the correct caster. ###

What We're Looking For Experience with the following is strongly preferred: * Shopify stores with large product catalogs * Bulk product and SKU uploads * Shopify CSV imports * Metafields and product attributes * Shopify Search & Discovery / product filtering * Collections and navigation * Product variants * Industrial, technical, or B2B e-commerce **Attention to detail is extremely important.** We will eventually have thousands of SKUs on the website, so SKUs, pricing, specifications, images, and filters need to remain accurate and consistent. ### Project Structure We are looking for a **budget-friendly freelancer for an ongoing working relationship**, rather than an agency or large one-time website build. Work will be assigned in stages or batches as needed. Initially, we want to make sure the site's product structure, filtering, navigation, and overall UX are set up correctly. From there, products will continue to be uploaded in batches. There is **no expectation that the entire catalog will be completed within 1–2 weeks.** This will be an ongoing project as we continue building out the website. If the relationship works well, there will likely be continued Shopify work available as the website and product catalog grow. ### When Applying **Please review the attached sample product spreadsheet before submitting your proposal.** In your response, please include: * Examples of Shopify stores you have worked on with large or complex product catalogs * Your experience with bulk product/SKU uploads * How you would approach turning the attached spreadsheet into organized Shopify products * How you would handle variants, metafields, and product filtering * Your hourly rate * An estimate of how long you believe it would take to upload and properly organize the products/SKUs shown in the sample spreadsheet We are not necessarily looking for the fastest person. We are looking for someone who can create a **simple, accurate, repeatable system** that we can continue using as thousands of additional SKUs are added.
