Senior SEO Strategist

This is a highly visible role responsible for defining and executing the SEO roadmap end-to-end while driving measurable business impact across traffic, revenue, and customer acquisition. You'll lead strategy while remaining deeply involved in execution, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Content, and Performance Marketing to ensure SEO is embedded throughout the business. Beyond traditional search, you'll help shape the future of organic growth by driving initiatives around AI-powered search experiences, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Google's AI Overviews. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strategy, solving complex technical SEO challenges, mentoring teammates, and operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where execution matters just as much as vision. Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid) What You'll Do • Own the SEO strategy and roadmap from planning through execution, balancing short-, medium-, and long-term initiatives. • Develop scalable SEO programs that drive sustainable growth across traffic, revenue, and customer acquisition. • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Content, and Performance Marketing to embed SEO into product development and marketing initiatives. • Lead technical SEO initiatives, including site architecture, crawl optimization, internal linking, structured data, and technical audits. • Develop and execute content strategies informed by keyword research, search intent, and evolving consumer behavior. • Drive both on-page and off-page optimization, including authority-building and backlink strategies. • Measure SEO performance using multi-touch attribution models and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM). • Lead initiatives focused on optimizing visibility across AI-driven search experiences, including LLMs and AI Overviews. • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve SEO workflows and scalability. • Monitor algorithm updates, search trends, and emerging technologies. • Mentor and collaborate with a Junior SEO Strategist while remaining hands-on in execution. What We're Looking For • Approximately 7+ years of progressive SEO experience with ownership of strategy and execution. • Proven success building SEO roadmaps in consumer-facing or e-commerce environments. • Expert-level proficiency with Ahrefs. • Strong technical SEO expertise including site structure, internal linking, crawl optimization, indexing, and content architecture. • Deep understanding of on-page optimization, content strategy, search intent, and authority-building. • Experience optimizing for AI-powered search, including LLMs and AI Overviews. • Strong analytical mindset with multi-touch attribution and/or MMM experience. • Ability to translate SEO insights into measurable business outcomes. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Highly organized with strong ownership and accountability.
